Associated Press reporter Harry Weber is on the ship that carried the containment box that could stop much of the oil spilling into the Gulf of Mexico. Weber describes how the box was lowered onto the ruptured well.
BP announced the containment box was on the sea floor in the Gulf of Mexico. The box is 14 feet by 24 feet and 40 feet tall. The containment system may begin funneling oil to a ship in the Gulf as early as May 10, 2010, and is expected capture as much as 85 percent of the oil leaking from the April 2010 Oil Spill disaster.
