Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:45 PM Wednesday March 21, 2018 to a report of smoke in the basement, 60 North Bothwell Street Palatine, Il. Firefighters arrived to find that patrons were being evacuated from the bar/restaurant.
Firefighter/paramedics reported nothing showing on arrival, and went inside to investigate. Firefighters reported a very light haze with a smell of burning wood.
After several minutes, no changes in conditions were observed. Also, firefighters could not find any heat sources.
Firefighters thoroughly checked the interior of the building and also inspected the exterior.
Firefighters suspect that some exterior source of smoke entered the building. Firefighters also soaked the suspected combustion area with water.
