Arlington heights police received a report about 10:00 a.m. Thursday of a burglary or attempted burglary in the 2100 block of Cherry Hill Drive, just south of Lake Arlington. A basement window or opening was ajar. Three previous burglaries have been reported in this area in the past week — two on the 2000 block of North Brighton Place and one on the 1900 block of Woodland Lane. At least six burglaries have been reported in the immediate area in since October 2009.
