Spectators gather at the Chicago River to see the annual spectacle of the river being dyed bright green.
St. Patrick’s day festivities in Chicago went well, except for few bottle throwers, and a few more cases of disorderly conduct. At least one woman was hit in the head by someone who threw a bottle. The woman was transported to a hospital by Chicago Fire Department paramedics, who were in the area of downtown Chicago with their mass casualty unit and multiple ambulances, cart teams and foot teams to handle multiple medical emergencies.
One person may have died while celebrating and falling from a 21st floor balcony at 200 North Dearborn Street. The death is under investigation.
