Chicago police, firefighters and paramedics responded shortly after 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 17, 2018 to a report of a stabbing at Union Station. The man was reported stabbed during an attempted robbery on a Metra train inbound to Chicago’ Union Station.
The male victim was standing in the vestibule of a Milwaukee District-North Line train inbound Metra train about 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 17, 2018 when five males tried to rob him as the Milwaukee-District North Line train had just passed the Western Avenue station that was running express to Union Station, Dahlstrom said..
The male victim was stabbed under his left arm with an “unknown object, and was transported to Stroger Hospital with injuries that initially did not appear to be life-threatening.
The incident is under investigation by Metra police. The Western Avenue is located southeast of the Humboldt Park neighborhood. Since the train was an express train, there is no known connection with the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
