... #ad▼

Arlington Heights police received a report about 12:20 p.m. Sunday that two males came to the door of a resident’s house in the 2400 block of East Sherwood claiming they were tree trimmers. Apparently one suspect kept talking to the resident, while the other suspect entered the house and stole $400 cash from a room in the house. The crime is reported to have occurred Saturday.

An offender appeared at the victim’s door claiming to be trimming trees in the area. He explained that the neighbor had asked him to trim back one of her trees. When the victim walked toward the back yard, the offender had entered the residence with her and was next to her. The offender and the resident were looking out the back window when the offender received a cell phone call. The offender then left quickly out the front door. The victim later found approximately $400 missing from a bedroom dresser.

The offender was described as a male about 50 year-old with average build. He was clean shaven and had short dark hair (race not available). A white SUV was reported driving away westbound on Sherwood.
