Illinois State Police, Palatine Police and Arlington Heights Police Department were involved in a search in the area of Route 53 and Anderson and Reynolds on the Palatine side of Route 53 about 11:30 p.m. Monday. A report came in of a car in a ditch off of Route 53 with a man with a gun exiting the car. The car was reported to be a silver or white sedan — possibly a Ford Taurus. A theft of some type originated in the area of Dundee Quarters. Police were involved in a search of the area for about 30 minutes.
Unknown if an arrest was made.
