Arlington Heights police received a report about 9:00 p.m. of a burglary in the 1000 block of East Orchard Street. An offender or offenders kicked in a front door and stole items from inside the house. The burglary occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
While police were at the Orchard location, they learned of a second burglary in the 900 block of South Roosevelt Avenue — a home next-door. Items were stolen from the home after an offender or offenders entered an unlocked rear window. The burglary occurred between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Items stolen from both homes included jewelry, a stereo, a Wii system with games, unknown number of liquor bottles and several jars of miscellaneous coins.
