A yellow Northern Cardinal was spotted in a quiet neighborhood in Alabaster, Alabama in Shelby County and photographed by wildlife photographer Jeremy Black on Saturday, February 17, 2018. A woman discovered the bird in her yard and allowed wildlife photographer Jeremy Black to photograph and get video of the bird at her bird feeder.
The neighborhood is located near Thompson High School and Thompson Middle School in Alabaster, Alabama, which is located near the center of Alabama between Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama.
WIAT CBS 42 reports the yellow color is caused by a rare mutation.
This morning I had the opportunity to photograph this rare cardinal in Alabaster, AL.
