Snow accumulation is expected to be 2.1 inches by 6 PM, and will negatively affect the evening rush hour. Winds will be 6-8 MPH from the southwest for most of the snow system.
The snow-to-liquid ratio is expected to be dry at 16-17:1, and possibly as high has 25:1 (very dry fluffy snow). The high temperature of 17°F is expected hold from 2 PM to 9 PM. Air temperature is expected to fall to 15°F to 14°F by 11 PM monday when the snow ends.

Deeper snow is forecast for the southwest suburbs and far west suburbs, including Aurora, Joliet, Naperville. The close edge of deeper snow if expected along a line from Joliet to Rockford, and Joliet to Pontiac, and then west to the Mississippi River.
