
Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 3:06 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025 to a report of a small fire on a second-floor balcony at a large apartment complex at 429 East Seegers Road in Arlington Heights. First arriving units reported nothing showing, but were met by the occupant who directed them to the second floor. The crews found moderate smoke conditions in the second-floor hallway and the fire unit. Fire was located and extinguished in the exterior wall near an HVAC unit. There were no occupant or firefighter injuries reported during the working fire in an apartment building.
Fire damage was limited to a second-floor exterior wall. Two units were deemed uninhabitable due to fire and water damage. The fire is still under investigation.
Crews from Mt. Prospect, Schaumburg and Elk Grove Village assisted in the incident.
Firefighter and paramedics from Des Plaines, Lake Zurich, Prospect Heights stood by in Arlington Heights Fire Stations in case other emergency calls for help in Arlington Heights occurred while the apartment fire was extinguished.
