
Lake County Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters and paramedics from Countryside Fire Protection District responded about 8:26 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2025 to a report of a house fire in the block of 5600 Oakwood Circle in the Oakwood Creek neighborhood of Long Grove.
The first fire crew on arrival reported fire from a gazebo extending to a house. Due to the fire spreading to a large 2-story home, the Countryside Fire Protection District activated a MABAS Division 4 Box Alarm #10 at 8:49 p.m.
No injuries were reported, and the residents at home evacuated safetly.
There are no hydrants in the neighborhood, which is located northeast of Route 83 and Route 22 in northeast Long Grove.
Firefighters set up a tender operation with tenders or water tanker trucks and a portable water tank in the street. Several neighboring fire departments and fire protection district firefighters responded to assist Long Grove firefighters.
Initially, no damage estimate was available.
