
Palatine Police officers on foot patrol near North Brockway Street and West Wilson Street about 5:25 p.m. March 15, 2025 observed a pedestrian, later identified as 37-year-old Brian G. Lister, unlawfully crossing the railroad tracks while the gates were down and warning signals were active.
Palatine officers then saw Lister enter a blue Audi R8 parked nearby. As they approached the vehicle, one officer observed Lister seated in the driver’s seat in possession of cocaine. A subsequent search of Lister and his vehicle uncovered additional narcotics, including approximately 30 grams of cocaine and pills containing amphetamine.

Lister, of the 3400 block of West Payton Place in Arlington Heights, is a convicted felon, according to the Palatine Police Department. He was transported to the George N. Leighton Criminal Court Building in Chicago for a detention hearing, where he was ordered held until his next court appearance. His hearing is scheduled for March 18, 2025, at 9:00 AM in Room 108 at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse.
