Wauconda Police officers responded about 4:08 p.m. January 28, 2025 to the block of 400 Barrington Road to conduct a well-being check on a male subject accused by two juveniles of public indecency. The witnesses reported seeing the male engaging in lewd behavior while naked on his porch at a mobile home neighborhood. Police officers identified the male as Horacio Olayo, age 44.
Upon making contact with Horacio Olayo inside his residence, officers observed that he appeared disoriented and confused.
Evidence of cocaine use was found on his person and inside the residence. Olayo was transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation.
Following further investigation, a search warrant was obtained, leading to the seizure of U.S. currency and cocaine from the residence, according to the Wauconda Police Department.
On Monday, February 3, 2025, an arrest warrant was issued for Horacio Olayo on the following misdemeanor charges:
Public Indecency (2 counts) 720 ILCS 5/11-30(a)(1)
Disorderly Conduct (2 counts) 720 ILCS 5/26-1(a)(1)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (1 count) 720 ILS 600/3.5(a)
Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Attempt) (1 count) 720 ILCS 570/402(c)
