
A missing child, Tristan Gaters (8 years-old), is (was) the subject of an AMBER ALERT that was activated on cell phones in Illinois about 1:52 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025.
The child was last seen about 7:40 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025 near Eberhart Avenue and 71st Street in Chicago, Illinois.

The AMBER ALERT has been cancelled as the victim of child abduction was found safe.
During early morning hours before the abducted child was located, the license plate number was updated, and the vehicle description was updated from a 2017 Ford Escape to 2022 Ford Escape. Also, the last seen location of the updated child may have been updated.
A woman was stabbed and killed at the crime scene location near Eberhart Avenue and 71st Street Chicago. According to the Chicago Police Department, a 33-year-old female victim was inside a residence in the block of 7100 South Eberhart at approximately 6:55 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, when she sustained multiple stab wounds by an unknown offender. The victim was stabbed in the back and the abdomen, and was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital where she was pronounced.
Another child may also have been injured. Update below …
Police discovered that the abducted boy and an 11 year-old boy were both stabbed. The 11 year-old boy was discovered about 8:00 p.m with stab wounds to the abdomen, and was listed in critical condition.
The 8 year-old boy was discovered when he walked into a gas station store near 82nd Street and Damen Avenue in Chicago with stab wounds, and asked for help, sometime between 2:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.
The suspect, identified by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department (Indiana) as Marcus Bausley, was taken into custody about 10:00 a.m. Thursday, after the suspect’s vehicle was detected by a License Plate Reader, and after a police pursuit and a standoff.

The Chicago Police have a confirmed child abduction that occurred in the 7100 block of South Eberhart Avenue, Chicago. Tristan Gaters is a male black, 8 year old, 5 foot tall, 90 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen at 7:40 pm on February 20th. Tristan is in a beige 2017 Ford Escape, driven by Marcus A. Bausley, male black, 39 years old with brown hair and brown eyes, 5 feet 8 inches, 215 pounds.
