Police and firefighters from Naperville responded about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2025 to multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a house fire in the block of 3500 Redwing Court in southwest Naperville.

One person was reported trapped on the second floor. Naperville Police Department arrived first on the scene at 3:17 p.m. and confirmed a fully-involved structure fire with an individual trapped on the second floor.

The first fire crew arrived at 3:21 p.m. and found fire affecting both floors of a large 2-story home, and fire showing from many windows. Nearly all second floor windows had fire showing. The intense fire prevented interior access to the second floor. The fire burned long and intense enough to burn holes through the second floor, and to cause the interior stairwell to collapse.

Due to the extremely cold weather and the advanced fire, a Box Alarm was called, bringing an additional six suppression vehicles to the scene. At 4:33 p.m., the alarm was struck, indicating the fire was under control, according to Naperville Fire Department. Fire companies remained on scene to continue overhaul operations.

The Naperville Fire Department received support from the Naperville Police, Naperville Electric, Naperville Transportation Engineering and Development Team, Naperville Public Works, Naperville EMA, and NICOR. Fire departments from Aurora, Bolingbrook, Lisle-Woodridge, Fermi Lab, Oswego and Plainfield assisted on the scene. Additional station coverage was provided by the Bolingbrook, Lockport, Plainfield, Romeoville, and Warrenville Fire Departments.
