The identity was released of a child, who is believed to have drowned on Monday, February 17, 2025, as Noah Probst of Peotone, Illinois
The Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District and Bannockburn Police Department responded about 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2025 to a report of a drowning in a residential indoor pool in a private home in the block of 1900 Half Day Road (Route 22) in Bannockburn. Emergency crews arrived and began resuscitative efforts on a child, that had been pulled from the pool and, who was unconscious and not breathing. The child was transported to Endeavor Health Highland Park Hospital, where care and treatment was provided. The child was pronounced deceased in the emergency room.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the hospital.
The deceased was identified as 1-year-10-month-old Noah Probst, of Peotone, Illinois. On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, an autopsy was conducted at the Lake County Coroner’s Office. Autopsy results indicate that the child’s death is consistent with drowning.
The Bannockburn Police Department continues to investigate the incident. According to the Lake County Coroner’s Office, foul play is not suspected.
