Police and firefighter/paramedics from Abington Township responded about 9:30 p.m. ET, Monday, February 17, 2025 to a report of commercial building fire at SPS Technologies, 301 Highland Avenue in Abington Township in Pennsylvania (north of Philadelphia). Abington Police warned the public of an active fire with heavy smoke at 9:34 p.m. ET.
The fire has grown to a block-long fire involving a large building and/or complex of buildings.
SPS Technologies is a major supplier for aerospace fasteners and fittings. SPS was acquired by Precision Castparts Corp in 2003.
The Abington Township Fire Department is a dedicated team of volunteer firefighters comprised of five individual fire companies unified as one department with a mission to provide excellent fire, rescue, fire prevention, and public education services to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the community.
