Two Male Adults Shot and Killed on Greenwood Ave Near Lewis Ave Waukegan Sunday

Two male shooting victims located on the same street in a residential neighborhood in Waukegan — near a ComEd right of way across the street — were shot and killed Sunday night, January 26, 2025.

Waukegan Police Department police officers and then firefighters and paramedics from the Waukegan Fire Department responded initially to a shooting in the block of 1900 West Greenwood Avenue in Waukegan. They found a man in his 20s, shot and bleeding from the mouth. Police officers performed CPR, and when the scene was determined to be secure, paramedics began treating the victim and transported him to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A second male victim in his 30s was found shot outside his home about 7:59 p.m. in the block of 1700 West Greenwood Avenue. The second male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Waukegan Police Department Major Crime Scene Unit responded to investigate the shooting incidents.

Initially, the shootings were believed to connected, but no suspects were identified, and there was no indication whether the victims shot each other.
