Police, firefighters and paramedics from Philadelphia responded about 6:00 p.m. ET Friday night, January 31, 2025 to a report of the crash of a small plane near Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard in northeast Philadelphia.

There is an early report of multiple fires at or near an outdoor strip mall shopping mall “The Roosevelt Mall” that was struck, a vehicle fire, and a fully-involved house fire located near a large apartment building. There are reports of multiple casualties. Six row homes were burning. Wreckage “all over the place” and an oxygen tank one-quarter mile away from impact site
There is an LA Fitness, Macy’s, Ross Dress for Less, Hair Cuttery, Raising Cane’s at the shopping, a cafe at the shopping mall.
FlightRadar24 reports that a Learjet 55 (XA-UCI) crashed shortly after takeoff from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. The flight departed at 23:06 UTC, reaching a maximum altitude of 1,650 ft at 23:06:54. Granular ADS-B data shows the last message from the aircraft (non-position report) reported a vertical rate of -11,008 fpm.
The aircraft was a medical aircraft with 6 people on board — pilots, medical personnel, a patient and family. The aircraft was scheduled to travel to Springfield, Missouri (Springfield-Branson National Airport). The medical jet company stated that the patient was a pediatric patient.
