Lisle-Woodridge Fire District firefighters declared a roof fire under control in about 50 minutes at a 5-story multi-family building at the Four Lakes Condominium and Rental Community in Lisle Thursday morning, December 12, 2024.
The Lisle-Woodridge Fire District responded about 7:02 a.m. Thursday, December 12, 2024 to a report of a structure fire at 6020 Oakwood Drive in Lisle.
The 9-1-1 caller was instructed to activate or pull a manual file alarm in the building to alert residents and begin evacuation.
A structure fire response was immediately dispatched, assigning four engines, two ladder trucks, two medic units, and a command team to the scene. The first unit arrived at 7:07 a.m. and the crew reported smoke and fire from the roof. The initial assessment report indicated a possible fire on the fifth floor.
The fire was located on the roof, where crews were able to mitigate the existing fire loss through extinguishment and overhaul. The alarm was elevated to a MABAS Box Alarm at 7:20 a.m. and the fire was declared under control at 7:57 a.m.
The MABAS Division 16 Box Alarm was struck at 8:13 a.m.
No injuries were reported to residents, but one firefighter suffered a minor injury.
Warming locations were made available at neighboring buildings, and a warming bus was requested to the scene. The American Red Cross was also requested to the scene to assist residents after the fire.
Lisle-Woodridge fire units were assisted at the scene by responding units from Darien-Woodridge Fire District, Downers Grove Fire Department, Naperville Fire Department, Warrenville Fire District, Bolingbrook Fire Department, and Lombard Fire Department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District.
