Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 8:13 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 to a report of a rollover crash of a semi-trailer dump truck with injuries and the truck driver still in the truck at the exit ramp from I-90 WEST to the northbound lanes of Arlington Heights Road in Arlington Heights.
The first fire crew on arrival for an extrication response discovered a semi-dump truck on its driver’s side with gravel spilled in the northbound lanes of Arlington Heights Road north of Interstate 90. The truck driver was extricated out the windshield opening in the truck’s cab.
The driver was transport to a nearby hospital with injuries that initially appeared to be non-life-threatening.
Northbound Arlington Heights Road was temporarily closed from about 8:13 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. Hillside Towing and Recovery had the dump truck cab and trailer uprighted by 9:30 a.m., and the road cleared of gravel by about 9:40 a.m.
A crew from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and crews from the Illinois Tollway were assigned to the scene.
