Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 5:28 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2024 to a report that a man was possibly deceased near the brick gazebo north of the Arlington Heights Village Hall, and north of the parking garage just east of Arlington Heights Road.
Police were first on the scene and discovered a male adult that appeared to be deceased. The body was located just outside the gazebo on the bricks northeast of the gazebo. The man appeared to be a big man, wearing a bright yellow shirt. There was also fairly large beige or gray backpack nearby.
Arlington Heights Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
A routine death investigation was initiated immediately, and the investigation was ongoing at 8:45 p.m.
The appearance of the police activity and the appearance of the scene did not indicate that there was any violence or foul play connected to the death. MCAT, the Major Case Assistance Team, was not requested to respond to the scene.
The right lane of northbound Arlington Heights Road was closed temporarily during the initial investigation. Also, crime scene tape that had been set up was removed after about one hour into the investigation.
