Police, firefighter and paramedics from Roselle and Schaumburg responded about 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2024 to a report of an aircraft crash on Irving Park Road just northeast of Schaumburg Regional Airport in Schaumburg.
A small single-engine aircraft was located crashed in some bushes on the north side of Irving Park Road, just east of William Street in Roselle near the border with Schaumburg.

Authorities are on the scene in Roselle where a Piper Cherokee 140 came down near Irving Park Road & Williams Street, near the Schaumburg Airport. Early word is that there were no injuries. The pilot may have attempted an emergency landing going westbound on Irving Park Road east of Williams Street. The pilot may have turn right off the roadway across the north side road shoulder and stopped in some bushes. There is a curbside trash and recycling bin tipped with garbage strewn along the should on the north side of Irving Park Road east of the aircraft.
Roselle Fire Department Engine 64 is up front close at the crash scene, and was standing by for recovery operations.
Two occupants were out of the aircraft when firefighters and paramedics arrived, and both refused medical transport by paramedics.
The crash scene is located across Irving Park Road from L&W Supply in the block of 300 Irving Park Road in Roselle.
The aircraft is upright and leaning on the starboard side with the starboard side wing destroyed. The aircraft just missed power lines.
