The Waukegan Police Department and Waukegan Fire Department responded about 9:42 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024, to of an injured person outside at the Lakeside Tower Apartments, 200 Julian Street Waukegan. Emergency crews arrived to find a victim who was unconscious and not breathing. Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim, a female in her 30’s, had jumped from the 10th floor of the building. The victim was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office was notified and began the death investigation.
The deceased was identified as 34-year-old Chiquita Quinn, of Waukegan. On Thursday, August 22, 2024, an autopsy was conducted at the Lake County Coroner’s Office. Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Chiquita Quinn’s death was due to blunt force injuries consistent with a jump from height.
The case is still under investigation by the Waukegan Police Department, but no signs of foul play were found.
