Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 1:11 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024 to a report of a vehicle fire in a condominium park lot at the southeast corner of Eastman Street and Vail Avenue in Arlington Heights.
Police and firefighters arrived to find a fire fully involved in the engine compartment and driver/passenger compartment of a full-size GMC Sierra pickup truck.
The incident was upgraded to a structure fire response because the truck was parked next to a multi-story residential condominium building.
The fire was extinguished within about 15 minutes and there was no extension to the condominium building nearby.
No injuries were reported.
Eastman Street was closed for about 45 minutes by Arlington Heights police officers, and Hillside Towing removed the pickup truck from the scene.
Arlington Heights police officers also provided assistance to residents and the owner of the truck.
