The Wheeling Police Department on Thursday, August 29, 2024, announced the arrest of a former school bus driver with Grand Prairie Transit. The arrest followed an investigation after serious allegations of misconduct involving a 15-year-old female Wheeling High School student was reported in January 2024.
Elvis Fabi was accused of inappropriately grabbing and kissing the victim’s hand as she was preparing to exit the school bus. This incident triggered an extensive investigation, which included a review of surveillance video footage from the bus, according to the Wheeling Police Department. After a thorough investigation, detectives worked closely with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, Mr. Fabi has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery. He is scheduled to appear in court at the 3rd District Circuit Court in Rolling Meadows for a scheduled hearing on Friday, September 6, 2024.
