Police officers from Arlington Heights arrested a male suspect that escaped and violated electronic monitoring by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office while he was conditionally released from the Cook County Jail, awaiting trial.
Evan B. Dawood, age 39, of the block of 2300 South Goebbert Road was arrested at 6:15 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2024 near the intersection of Algonquin Road and Cedar Glen Drive in Arlington Heights, according to the Arlington Heights Police Department.
Evan B. Dawood had been charged with multiple felonies, including Delivery of Methamphetamine, being an Armed Habitual Criminal, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Dawood is also accused of possessing cocaine and drug paraphernalia, and DUI.
Dawood was conditionally released from the supervising authority, Cook County Jail, via an electronic monitoring program. Evan B. Dawood is accused of knowingly violating a condition of the electronic monitoring program, specifically leaving the registered monitoring location, removing the GPS Band, and failing to return to the registered location. According to a court document the electronic monitoring violation occurred on or about June 21, 2024 in the block of 1400 West 111th Street (just east of Interstate 57).
Dawood is accused of violating the electronic home monitoring condition without legal justification, authority and/or permission of the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.
As a result of his interaction with Arlington Heights Police Department officers on Monday, July 1, 2024, Evan B. Dawood is accused of the offense of Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer, Firefighter or Correctional Institution Employee (3711), and charged with Resisting a Peace Officer, Firefighter or Correctional Institution Employee [720 5/31-1(a)(1)]. At the time of arrest, Evan B Dawood was 6’1″ 180 LBS.
Dawood’s case status is active, and he is in custody in Cook County Jail in Division 2 Housing Location. He is being held “NO BOND” after violating the electronic home monitoring program.
