Uprighting Hyundai Kona in rollover crash on Belmont Ave near Magnolia St Arlington Heights YouTube Tips ⓘ
Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 3:27 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2024 to a report of a rollover crash with injuries on Belmont Avenue south of Magnolia Street (block of 1100 South Belmont Avenue) in Arlington Heights.
Ambulance 3’s crew on arrival reported a vehicle upside down on its roof with one person still in the vehicle. One occupant in the rolled vehicle got out of the vehicle on the passenger side before firefighters and paramedics arrived.
Extrication was required for the driver, who was still inside the rolled car. The upside down vehicle was stabilized, and the driver was extricated and transported to Northwest Community Hospital with injuries that initially appeared to be non-life-threatening.
Initial investigation indicated that the driver of a white Hyundai Kona electric vehicle was southbound on Belmont Avenue and struck the driver’s side rear wheel of a silver sedan that was parked on the southbound side of Belmont Avenue. The impact flipped the Hyundai Kona and broke the axle on the silver sedan.
