Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Rolling Meadows responded about 12:41 pm. Saturday, July 13, 2024 to a report of a car fire, but soon learned that there was a crash involving two vehicles that resulted in both vehicles burning.
One person was injured, and transported by Arlington Heights Fire Department Ambulance 3’s crew to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Firefighters reported seeing a smoke header while responding to the scene.
Police, firefighters and paramedics on arrival discovered a rear-end type crash in the eastbound lanes of Golf Road near the entrance to Busse Woods.
Rolling Meadows Fire Department Battalion Chief 15 on arrival reported a vehicle on fire with another vehicle off to the side. The collision involved a rear-end type crash and eventually both vehicles were burning.
Firefighters had water on the fire for two vehicles involved with fire by 12:51 p.m. The was extinguished in both vehicles by about 12:55 p.m.
Battalion Chief 15 reported an EMS summary of one patient transported to Northwest Community Hospital, and three medical refusals.
Traffic lanes were cleared by 1:50 p.m.
