Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 arrested 44-year-old Lloyd Wickliffe of Alsip for Attempted Murder (Class X Felony).

ISP received a call on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at approximately 5:58 a.m. of a shots fired incident on Interstate 57 southbound near 115th Street, Chicago. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim’s vehicle was shot at by a suspect in a Chevrolet Impala. No injuries were reported.

After an extensive ISP investigation, the suspect and vehicle were identified. ISP presented the case to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and the charge of Attempted Murder was filed.

The shots fired incident occurred on I-57 just east of Morgan Park High School on the southwest side of Chicago. The suburb of Alsip is about four miles from the Morgan Park neighborhood in Chicago.

I-57 is an important route for Chicago residents traveling to colleges and universities in Illinois and southern states, and to vacation destinations in the south, such as Tennessee and Florida.
