Regarding the plans and hopes for a Chicago Bears stadium in Chicago, Kevin Warren said, “We understand these projects are … they take time, a lot of energy, and a lot of effort, they’re complex, but they’re rewarding.”
Mayor Richard Irvin attended the Lincoln Forum luncheon, and said he believes he can expedite the construction of a new Bears stadium in Aurora. Irvin said he will personally, as mayor, walk it through the process, and make sure we make the relationships with our other government agencies, whether it be the township, the school districts, or the county.”
When asked about Irvin’s hopes and plans, Warren responded, “Aurora is a really special place, we’re the largest land owner in Arlington Heights (we own 326 acres) and it’s a great piece of land … and are focus right now, has been on Chicago, and will remain on Chicago.”
Illinois lawmakers have so far rejected a public financing package in Springfield. Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s office has called the April 2024 stadium proposal a “non-starter.” Warren explained at the Lincoln Forum that the obstacle means the Chicago Bears have more work to do.
