Police, firefighters and paramedics from Palatine responded about 3:18 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024 to a report from Union Pacific police that a person was down on Track 3 of the Union Pacific Northwest Line near Wood Street and Smith Street in Palatine.
Firefighters and paramedics found a male victim that was breathing, and initially they weren’t sure if the patient was hit by a train or not. The man may have been combative, but was transferred to an ambulance, and then transported to Northwest Community Hospital for assessment.
