Arlington Heights police officers responded twice Friday afternoon April 12, 2024 before 3:00 p.m. to the area of Northwest Highway and Vail Avenue in downtown Arlington Heights for a report of a male adult threatening customers and pounding on objects, and throwing objects.
Witnesses report that an unknown male offender appeared intoxicated, under the influence, and/or mentally ill as he threw objects in the Mobil gas station, and threatened customers. He left the gas station and then returned to the Mobil gas station with an alcoholic beverage.
The second time at the Mobil station, the offender’s behavior was more aggressive, and police arrived with more units. Then the male offender headed over to Jewel-Osco at 122 North Vail Avenue. Witnesses at the Jewel-Osco said he was yelling, religious phrases.
Apparently this male adult, described as a male black around 25 years-old, 6’ 01” was not a repeat customer at either location.
Police officers removed the male or encouraged him to leave the Jewel-Osco. Initially it’s unknown if he was eventually arrested on Friday.
There were no injuries reported Friday afternoon, and paramedics were not dispatched to either scene.
Hopefully CARDINAL NEWS will have some additional information in the next 2 to 7 days.
