Hanover Park Bank Robbery Then Attempted Bank Robbery at US Bank on Meacham Rd Schaumburg

An offender is suspected to have robbed a US Bank on Irving Park Road in Hanover Park, and then to have attempted to rob the US Bank in Schaumburg on Meacham Road just south of Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg.

Police from Hanover Park responded about 12:20 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024 to a report of an armed robbery at the US Bank, 1301 West Irving Park Road in Hanover Park.

The suspect displayed a handgun in Hanover Park.

A short time later police officers from Schaumburg responded about 12:55 p.m. to a report of an attempted armed robbery at the US Bank at 60 South Meacham Road in Schaumburg.

The bank on Meacham Road has been robbed at least two times recently.

The bank robbery and the attempted bank robbery are suspected to involve the same offender and same vehicle used to flee the crimes.

The suspect is described as a male/black wearing a dark blue knit hat, skin tight black face covering black, dark or black hooded sweatshirt, also wearing one blue and one black medical glove, and black or dark gray baggy sweat pants.




The suspect fled from both crimes in a dark gray Nissan Altima with no license plates. The vehicle was initially described as brown in color in Irving Park. Schaumburg police reported that the car had damage on the driver’s side rear door and was dark gray.

The offender was parked in a neighborhood behind the US Bank, just west of the bank, and was last seen southbound on Brookstone Drive toward Springwood Drive in Schaumburg.

Berkeley Police spotted the offender on I-290 EAST near Meacham Road; however the offender was not in custody as of 1:25 p.m.
