Cook County Sheriff’s Police, and firefighters and paramedics from Long Grove Fire Protection District responded about 12:34 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024 to a report of shots fired and a shooting victim in an apartment in the block of 2300 West Nichols Road in unincorporated Arlington Heights.
Long Grove Fire Protection District firefighters and paramedics transported a wounded male juvenile from the scene with a gunshot wound to the abdomen to an undisclosed hospital.
Cook County Sheriff’s deputies also brought out one male in custody in handcuffs. Initially, it was unknown if he was a suspect in the shooting or in custody for some other reason.
Cook County Sheriff’s detectives are currently investigating. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call the Cook County Sheriff’s Police at 708-865-4896.
