Snow beginning after 5:00 p.m. Thursday with 2-4 inches of fluffy snow expected Thursday night into Friday morning creating hazardous travel conditions.
Significant snowfall will reduce to light snow and flurries beginning about 5:00 a.m.
Gusty northwest winds to 30 mph will result in blowing and drifting snow late tonight into Friday morning, particularly in open areas.
Heavy to potentially crippling lake effect snow event expected over northeastern Porter County late tonight into Friday morning.
Bitter cold returns Friday night with -25 to -15 degree wind chills expected.
Weather Radar shows precipitation crossing the Mississippi River into Illinois at 4:40 p.m.
