Arlington Heights remains under a Winter Weather Advisory, but is very close to Lake County – Buffalo Grove, which is under a Winter Storm Warning.
The Winter Weather Advisory for Arlington Heights and O’Hare International Airport is ironic because the snowfall forecast for Arlington Heights (8.0 inches) is higher than Deerfield, Illinois in Lake County (5.4 inches). Northern Arlington Heights borders Lake County at Lake Cook Road where there is a Winter Storm Warning.
At 5:00 p.m. Monday, the total snowfall forecast indicates a significant gradient from the area of the O’Hare Terminal 1 to the Arlington Heights area.
The O’Hare forecast for total snowfall is 6.6 inches at Terminal 1 at the airport.
The Arlington Heights Road – I-90 interchange is indicating a total snowfall forecast of 7.9 inches.
The Lake Cook Road area near Buffalo Creek Forest Preserve is indicating a total snowfall forecast of 8.0 inches.
Weather Radar at 5:15 p.m. shows light precipitation passing a line from Davenport to Ottawa to Kankakee with heavier precipitation behind.
The low pressure center at 5:15 p.m. is centered over Oklahoma City.

inches, lowest amounts expected along the Lake Michigan
lakeshore.
* WHERE…Portions of central and northeast Illinois and
northwest Indiana.
* WHEN…From 8 PM this evening to noon CST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions will impact the morning commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snowfall rates in excess of one inch per
hour are possible at times late tonight into Tuesday morning.
