There was a carjacking and an attempted carjacking that were connected Saturday — an attempted vehicular hijacking near Arlington Drive and County Farm Road in Hanover Park, and a vehicular hijacking on IL-390 near Itasca. Police received a report about 12:11 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2023 that a male Hispanic and a female Hispanic couple were involved in a personal injury crash on IL-390 EAST at the 13.5 Mile Marker near Itasca.

Also, Hanover Park police responded about 11:58 AM Saturday January 6, 2024 to an attempted vehicular hijacking at Arlington Drive and County Farm Road Hanover Park, IL.
The female Hispanic involved in the crash allegedly took a black Toyota Tundra from the crash scene on IL-390. There were also multiple vehicles in the eastbound and westbound lanes on IL-390, and one car in a ditch nearby.
The two offenders were also possibly connected to a vehicular hijacking attempt involving a 2017 gray Chrysler van with a back hatch door missing in Hanover Park. An offender in Hanover Park implied he had a weapon. However the male offender in Hanover Park was described as a male/white suspect.
The reported attempted vehicular hijacking occurred at Arlington Drive and County Farm Road.
Initially, it was not clear which crime occurred first — but it was apparently the attempted vehicular hijacking in Hanover Park that occurred before the actual vehicular hijacking on IL-390 when the black Toyota Tundra was taken.
The black Toyota Tundra was last seen northbound on York Road from Irving Park Road in Bensenville. It was not clear whether the male Hispanic or a white male was with the female Hispanic when she fled with the black Toyota Tundra.
