Park City police and Gurnee firefighters and paramedics responded about 12:04 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023 to a report of a crash with injuries involving a Park City Police Department squad on Route 120 west of I-94. The crash was located on Route 120 near Hanlon Road just west of I-94 in an unincorporated area near Park City, Illinois.
The wreckage was located on both sides of Route 120 near Hamlin. Crash scene observation indicated the Park City police Ford Interceptor SUV was rear-ended. A Gurnee fire crew on arrival reported three vehicles were involved with moderate damage.
A witness at the scene reported the Park City Police Department SUV was rear-ended while a a Park City police officer was working on a traffic stop. The police officer and the involved driver that rear-ended the police SUV were transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) was assigned to the scene.
