The Lake County government is asking people to join the fight to help end homelessness by participating in the Lake County 2024 Point In Time (PIT) Count. Volunteers are needed the night of Wednesday, January 31, 2024 to search across Lake County to interview, count, and offer assistance to unsheltered homeless people.
Volunteers can create their own teams of two to five people or volunteer as an individual and be paired up with a team. All volunteers must be over the age of 18 and attend a virtual training.
The data gathered during the PIT Count will capture a picture of what homelessness looks like on any given day, help coordinate services for people experiencing homelessness, and provide organizations with the information needed to work towards the goal of ending homelessness in Lake County.
We thank everyone that considers volunteering this year and helps us spread the word! Additional information including how to register can be found on the Lake County Coalition for the Homeless website.
