The cause of death for a young male adult found deceased in a car in a hotel parking lot in August 2023 was ruled as acute and chronic ethanolism (alcoholism).
The Cook County Medical Examiner had reported Friday morning, August 11, 2023 that the person who was found dead at 100 West Algonquin Road was a male, age 28, and a resident of Elk Grove Village.
Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 11:10 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2023 to a report that a person was found unresponsive in a car in the west parking lot of the Courtyard by Marriott — Arlington Heights, 100 West Algonquin Road in Arlington Heights. The vehicle where the body was found was a dark subcompact car — possibly a Toyota Yaris.
Police and paramedics rushed to help the person in the car, but the person was already deceased. Paramedics assessed the person that had been in the car, and confirmed the male adult was deceased. A police investigation was begun immediately, and police were collecting evidence by about 11:40 p.m.
Police activity observed at the scene did not indicate there was any threat in the area. The body was turned over to the Cook County Medical Examiners Office for further investigation.
