Driver arrested after field sobriety test after a crash into a guard rail at Kirchoff Road and Wilke Road YouTube Tips ⓘ
Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows responded about 9:21 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2023 to a report of a car vs pole crash with injuries in Arlington Heights at the north intersection of Wilke Road and Kirchoff Road in Arlington Heights near the border with Rolling Meadows.
Police, firefighters, and paramedics on arrival discovered a Nissan Altima crashed into a guardrail on the east side of Wilke Road at the T-intersection with Kirchoff Road in Rolling Meadows.
A female driver did not report and injuries at the scene. A field sobriety test was administered, and the female driver was handcuffed and arrested immediately after the field sobriety test was completed. She was then transported to Arlington Heights Police Department headquarters.
Initially, detailed information was not available regarding charges for the driver. Fortunately, the guardrail kept the car from hitting the pole. Apparently, no additional vehicles were involved in the crash. A T-bone type crash at the intersection could have caused serious injuries.
There were lane reductions during the crash operations, field sobriety test and crash investigation. The intersection was cleared by about 10:45 p.m. Sunday
Another driver crashed into a ComEd utility pole on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at about 5:49 p.m. The driver’s injuries were not life-threatening. The ComEd pole was broken by the impact of the crash, which was located at the south intersection of Wilke Road and Kirchoff Road.
