Police on-scene investigation after two teens were shot on Queensbury Circle in Hoffman Estates YouTube Tips ⓘ
Police, firefighters and paramedics from Hoffman Estates responded about 8:18 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023 to a report of a shooting in the block of 1700 Queensbury Circle in Hoffman Estates. According to the Hoffman Estates Police Department, the police department is investigating an expected “Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm” case that occurred in the block of 1700 Queensbury Circle in Hoffman Estates. Two shooting victims were transported to hospitals — one by Hoffman Estates Fire Department paramedics, and one possibly traveling away from the scene in a “shot up” vehicle before police arrived.
Some police officers were already scene reporting they located a shooting victim with a gunshot wound in the chest, and a gunshot wound in the leg. Hoffman Estates police officers administered emergency first aid treatment to the 17 year-old gunshot victim, who was was discovered in the lawn in front of a townhouse in the block of 1700 Queensbury Circle in Hoffman Estates. A police officer applied a tourniquet to the leg of the shooting victim before paramedics arrived.
Paramedics treated the victim with Advanced Life Support, and transported the 17 year-old male to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
A 9-1-1 caller said that a subject had been shot and that the driver of a vehicle possibly involved in the shooting had fled the scene. A witness in the neighborhood also said that he believed a vehicle was involved when shots were heard, but said he couldn’t get a good look at the vehicle.
Police officers, with reason to believe there might have been a second shooting victim, checked nearby hospital to find out whether any shooting victims arrived. According to the Hoffman Estates Police Department, police officers located a vehicle with multiple bullet holes in the parking lot of one of the hospitals. Then police officers located a second shooting victim, who was reported to have been a passenger in the vehicle with the bullet holes. The second victim located was found to have suffered a graze wound in his back. The male, age 18, was treated and released from the hospital, and was taken into custody by the Hoffman Estates Police Department.
Two additional suspects were taken into custody, but the Hoffman Estates Police Department did not disclose where the other two suspects were located when they were taken into custody.
Initial investigation indicates that this is an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public. Currently three subjects are in custody, and charges are pending as Hoffman Estates Detectives continue the investigation.

Hoffman Estates Police Department collected evidence on Queensbury Circle past midnight, and blocked off part of Queensbury Circle during the on-scene investigation. Several evidence markers were placed in the front lawn of a townhouse located on Queensbury Circle.
The crime scene in the townhouse neighborhood is located just north of Higgins Road and east of Barrington Road by about one mile. Ascension Saint Alexius — a general hospital — is located about one mile west of the shooting scene.
