Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 2:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 to a report of a pedestrian hit by a hit-and-run driver traveling in a red sedan on Northwest Highway just east of Vail Avenue in Arlington Heights.
Police on arrival discovered a young male adult with serious injuries in the westbound lanes of Northwest Highway just east of Vail Avenue.
Arlington Heights Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
The driver of a red sedan — described as a Ford Fusion — is wanted for leaving the scene of a personal injury crash. Police are investigating camera recordings in the area.
The victim was hit when he was with a group of other pedestrians who were crossing Northwest Highway in or near the crosswalk.
