Police, firefighters, divers and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 9:22 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2023 to a report that personal belongings were found near the beach and dock by the Lake Arlington Boat House, 1400 East Valley Lane in Arlington Heights. Suspecting the worst case scenario, a dive operation was activated and firefighters and divers from nearby fire departments were requested to assist Arlington Heights Fires Department personnel to search and possibly locate a body for an underwater recovery in Lake Arlington.

Three fire department divers located a body near the boat dock area just east of the boat house at about 11:15 a.m., and immediately removed the body from the water. The body was transferred to shore by about 11:30 a.m. and turned over to the custody of the Arlington Heights Police Department.
