Police, firefighters and paramedics from Lincolnshire responded about 8:06 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2023 to a report of an “Active Threat” at Daniel Wright Junior High School, 1370 Riverwoods Road in Lincolnshire.
Lincolnshire-Riverwoods firefighter/paramedics and mutual aid firefighters and paramedics from Buffalo Grove, Deerfield-Bannock, Lake Forest and several other fire departments were staged nearby.
According to Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103, Daniel Wright Junior High School received a computer recorded message on voicemail stating that there was a bomb in the building. According to District 013, school officials immediately evacuated the building and notified the police.
Students, faculty and staff were evacuated by 8:15 a.m.

Good morning D103 families,
This morning, August 28, Daniel Wright Junior High School received a computer recorded message on voicemail stating that there was a bomb in the building. We immediately evacuated the school and notified the police. The police responded and are conducting a search of the building. If you have not brought your Daniel Wright child to school, please keep them at home at this time. Daniel Wright students already on the bus or already at school were taken to a secure offsite location. We will reach out to families to pick up students later this morning.
There are no threats to Sprague and Half Day Schools, which are operating normally today.
We will notify you as soon as we have additional information. Please do not call the school.
