Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 3:15 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2023 to a report that Arlington Alfresco customer was hit in the face by an umbrella. The incident was reported while high wind gusts were occurring in Arlington Heights. Paramedics transported their patient to Northwest Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The highest wind gusts Sunday at NWS O’Hare were reported between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The maximum gust speed reported at NWS O’Hare was 44 MPH from the southwest.
The highest wind gusts Sunday at NWS Chicago Executive Airport were reported between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The maximum gust speed reported at NWS Chicago Executive Airport was 38 MPH from the west.
Also on Sunday afternoon, a large tree fell in a yard at a single-family residence on Brighton Place north of Miner Street, and caused some damage to the roof and fascia of a house in the neighborhood. No injuries were reported.
