Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Chicago responded about 9:15 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023 to a report of a motorcycle crash with injuries in the block of 7700 North Sheridan Road in Chicago near Evanston.
Police, firefighters and paramedics arrived and found a 34-year-old male victim unresponsive. The victim, a resident of Mundelein, Illinois, was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Ascension St. Francis in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead at 10:08 p.m. According to the Cook County Medical Examiners Office the victim died of multiple blunt force injuries. The crash was ruled an accident by the Cook County Medical Examiners Office.
The crash victim’s identity was not initially released.
Chicago Police Department Area Three Detectives are investigating the fatal crash in the Rogers Park neighborhood. The victim was traveling southbound on Sheridan Road on a motorcycle before striking the center median. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.
The crash was located near two sharp curves on Sheridan Road near Lake Michigan and Juneway Beach. A warning sign gives notice of a curve for southbound traffic. The Speed Limit for the curve is 15 MPH. Speed was likely a factor in the crash.
