The Village of Arlington Heights announced Friday, May 26, 2023 that the village has approved demolition permits for phase 1 of the demolition of Arlington Park, which will allow for interior demolition of Arlington Park to begin.

Trucks will be exiting with demolition material on Rohlwing Road, and will be transferring material to two separate waste/recycling transfer stations …

The Rolling Meadows transfer station is located less than one-half mile west of Arlington Park, and is accessible from Rohlwing Road and Berdnick Street.
The traffic route for carrying demolition material to West Chicago is designated from southbound Rohlwing Road to westbound Euclid Avenue to the on ramp from westbound Euclid Avenue to southbound Route 53.
Empty trucks will be entering the property at three checkpoint locations …
Euclid Avenue near the property entrance near Salt Creek,
Euclid Avenue near the former Ditka’s Trackside restaurant, and
Rohlwing Road and Industrial Avenue on the west side of the property.
An Emergency Response Access Gate will be located at the northeast corner of the property at the entrance on Wilke Road just south of Northwest Highway.
Permits for exterior demolition of buildings will be reviewed and approved separately by both the Village of Arlington Heights and Cook County. Increased truck traffic due to the interior demolition is possible in the area, and the property surrounding 2200 West Euclid Avenue will continue to be monitored by security 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
